  • Dear participants of OS2023 and iFPC,

    This is Prof. Young-chul Ghim of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea, who is acting as the chair of the OS2023 conference. I would like to announce that the OS2023 is accepting conference proceedings from the participants of both conferences of OS2023 and iFPC2023.

    Traditionally, the OS conference (International Conference on Open Magnetic Systems for Plasma Confinement) has published conference proceedings as a part of the conference. This year, we have organized conference proceedings to be published at Journal of Plasma Physics (https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/journal-of-plasma-physics) where Prof. Bill Dorland of University of Maryland, USA and Prof. Alex Schekochihin of University of Oxford, UK serve as the editors.

    The conference proceedings will be a part of the special issues of the Journal of Plasma Physics. Handling editors of the special issue (Open Magnetic Systems for Plasma Confinement) are Prof. Cary Forest of University of Wisconsin – Madison, USA, and Prof. Troy Carter of University of California – Los Angeles, USA, and I, Young-chul Ghim, serve as the guest editor.

    We welcome you to submit your work and be published so that your valuable research outcomes gain worldwide attentions.

    Note that as long as your work has relevance to Open Magnetic Systems, you can submit your work to the special issue. This means that even if you are participants of iFPC, you are still eligible to submit your work. Also, there is no publication charges.

    We will open the special issue until the end of December 2023 to accept original papers, and all the submitted works will go through regular review process.

    1. Submit your work following a regular JPP online submission system.

    2. From the above website, follow “ScholarOneManuscripts” link.

    3. Log In to the website (if you do not have an account, you need to make one; or you can Log In with your ORCID id.)

    4. Follow the instructions as if you submit your regular paper.

    5. [IMPORTANT] You must select ‘Open Magnetic Systems for Plasma Confinement’ from the top-down menu of ‘Special Collection.’

    6. [IMPORTANT] You must type in ‘Cary Forest’ in the ‘Select Editor’ section.

    7. Continue to submit your original work.
